Grassroots Literature is actively seeking fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry (4000 words or less). At this time we are not able to offer remuneration however, we do accept re-prints.
Grassroots Literature trusts that authors have full rights over their work when they are submitting material. In the case of re-prints, we will gladly credit the original publisher by writing "first published by (name of publisher)," if this is required. However, we do expect writers to understand the terms and conditions they have agreed to with previous publishers and when applicable make these conditions known to us when submitting material.
When a writer submits material to Grassroots Literature they are giving us permission to reproduce the content for our issue and to promote it on our website. The website may contain an excerpt from the story (as a teaser) but not the full story. It is also important to note that each issue of Grassroots Literature is a software application. It cannot be electronically distributed or forwarded to others the way an email or a newsletter can. It is also different than a website in that it cannot be accessed by anyone. The only way to access Grassroots Literature is to download it from the Apple App store using an iPhone or an iPod Touch.
